"mornings on 2" starts now. >>> good morning, everybody. welcome to "mornings on 2." i'm brian flores. dave clark has the morning off. >> good morning. i'm pack cook. tori campbell is off today. it's -- i'm pam cook. it it tori campbell is off today. >>> a christmas morning fire in the south bay. it started a few hours ago. janine de la vega is on the scene and joins us from campbell. how does it look out there, janine? >> reporter: well, the fire is out here at this commercial building on del avenue. firefighters are still putting water on it. you can actually see the smoke still rising in the air coming from that building. now, originally we were told that the firefighters had not entered the building yet for safety precautions. let's go to some video. here you can see some flames shooting from the roof. we were told they were 50 feet up in the air at one point. firefighters were called to the scene just before 5:00 a.m. they immediately started to attack it from the outside. the

problems that intersection. >>> san francisco seen a rise in domestic violence cases this year. ktvu's david stevenson shows us a new campaign to turn the trend around. >> reporter: san francisco officials launched a peace at home campaign to reduce domestic violence cases. >> we know from years of experience and data suggested to us that domestic violence goes up during the holidays. our domestic violence shelters are handling 29% more bed nights for victims of domestic violence. >> reporter: the domestic violence cases jumped 98%. there is $750,000 in legal service funds for immigrants who are victims of domestic violence. >> domestic violence is a crime and must be treated as such. >> domestic violence became a top political issue after the mayor suspended san francisco sheriff ross mirkarimi. a campaign launched yesterday aiming aiming to encourage ross mirkarimi to step down. >> now i think this is primarily driven not by the sheriff but by the statistics we are reacting to. the information about increased calls and cries for help. >> the campaign continues in january with ads

:05. sentencing today for a san francisco school cafeteria worker convicted of several sexual assaults. he was convicted of attacking three women in the mission district last year. one of them was beaten unconscious. he could get life in prison. the fifth suspect charged in an attack that left one man dead and a woman badly beaten is set to face a judge today. they were found bound and bagged in the middle of the street. the victims and the suspects knew each other. the final suspect is facing charges of accessory to murder and conspiracy to destroy evidence. >>> new this morning there is more fallout from the royal phone hoax. about a dozen workers at the australian radio station behind the prank call had been moved to safe houses. ten radio executives now have around the clock bodyguards because of death threats. meanwhile british investigators are disclosing more information about three suicide notes left by the nurse. two were found in the room while the other was among her personal possessions. one note dealt with the phone call. another focused on her funeral. the third criticized ho

now. 43 in fairfield currently. downtown san francisco 49 and san jose currently checking in around 50 degrees. here's a look at live storm tracker 2. not all is reaching the ground. but reports of rainfall at least a few sprinkles moving into parts of san francisco. san jose just some cloud cover. a few sprinkles, a few very light showers moving toward the bay bridge. and up in the north bay, santa rosa reporting some cloud cover but just up to the north, we do have light rain reported toward clover dale and the heelsburg area. in addition to the rainfall we're tracking some rainfall as well. those pink shades are snow being detected with the radar. snow levels coming down to 4800 to 4700 feet as we head into the evening hours. the one part of your weekend that is dry and we do have a high surf advisory to talk about. we'll let you know when that kicks into the area. >>> what does all the rain mean for our water supply. the update we got on reservoirs in the south bay. >>> a lot of snow has fallen this week in the sierra which translates into big business. mike leary is joins us after
